Followed instructions to the T. Made sure the tank wasn't overfilled, while being above the height of the coil. Used various combinations of 100% VG and 70/30 VG/PG (non-Halo brand). Been through ~20 ml of liquid so far, and recently swapped in my third coil (not due to burning out, just trying to rule out the coil as the source of the leak). I should note that out of the three coils I tried (from the 5-pack), one had damaged threads, and wouldn't thread in at all. In any case, despite taking great care disassembling, cleaning, letting the tank dry, reassembling (careful to not over-torque resulting in deformed/damaged o-rings), nothing has fixed the issue. While I love the idea of the Tracer twist (battery is great btw), the tank is a constant hassle. Letting the device stand upright, liquid will leak slowly through the adjustable air holes, so I've resorted to using the silicone band they sent me as a barrier of sorts below the tank/battery interface to keep liquid out of the usb port and otherwise just making a big mess. Not sure if this is an issue for tanks in general, or if it's specific to Halo (doubtful), but I will certainly be looking for another solution in the near future.
I'm on my 4th Tracer Tank thus far.. Initially, it was great and is still my favorite sub-ohm tank; but the glass on this thing keeps cracking or breaking. To no one's surprise, Halo has been out of stock on their glass cylinder replacements for at least 3 months now. Guess what? They are STILL out of stock... Your only option is to keep spending $20+ to buy a complete tank, which seems stupid to me. Why can't they just remove the glass from those tanks and offer them to existing customers? Owning a Halo vape device is great and all, but if replacement parts are hard to come by or are never in stock, then what's the point of buying them? Locally in San Diego, no one carries Halo. So if you're like me and have stockpiled on Halo coils and have nothing but tanks with broken glass... you're screwed. You might want to see what brands your local vape shops stock and stick to those...
Pyrex? Does Pyrex shatter? First, the unstable wobbly thing nicked good furniture and busted the glass tip. Then the metal one flew out and it never seated right after that. The finale came with a drop and shatter of the tank.
I could not be happier with the ease of use & great vapor production of the Tracer. It's easy to disassemble, fill & to keep tidy and clean! I can taste new nuanced flavor in my favorite Halo e-liquids. Thanks and well-done, Halo!
I was a little afraid of the complexity of mod style tanks compared to my tried and true Tritons. Thankfully, my fears were unfounded. The tank is easy to assemble, use, and loaded with great features.
Interchangeable coils, adjustable airflow vents, swappable drip tips, and a tank that can stand up to a little bit of punishment. This is the tank I’ve been waiting for, and the wait has been worth it.
