Vaping Made Easy

With so many products on the market, vaping can be a daunting undertaking. Which products do you need to get started? Does everything work in the same way? How much power is enough? These are all common questions that would take much more time than we have for this article, but we can at least give you a good primer that may make your choices easier. Remember, vaping doesn’t have to be hard! Here are some tips to get you started.

Cig-a-Likes

If you’re just getting started, and your head is spinning from all of the products on the market, a cig-a-like might be a good place for you to start. Cig-a-likes get their name because they most closely resemble a traditional cigarette. A cig-a-like is easy to use. All you need is the battery (the long tube) and a cartomizer, which looks like a filter on a cigarette. The cartomizer comes in your choice of pre-filled or refillable. If you choose a pre-filled cartomizer, all you have to do is screw the cartomizer onto the battery and you’re ready to vape.  If you choose a refillable option, you add one step in filling the cartomizer with the e-liquid of your choice.

The drawback with cig-a-likes is that they don’t have a lot of power and can’t be upgraded.  But they are very affordable and are a good intro to vaping to see if it’s something you’re interested in.

Closed Tank Systems

If you want ease of use and simplicity, a closed tank system might be what you’re looking for. A closed tank system would consist of a tank/cartomizer/pod that cannot be opened. This prevents e-juice leakage, but also does not allow you to refill the tanks, which may be a drawback. Closed tank systems consist of devices such as cig-a-likes, pre-filled tanks for vape pens, or devices that use closed pod systems.

Pre-Made Coils for Vaping

If you’re an advanced vaper, you might have an atomizer with a rebuildable deck. For the benefit of the novice, a rebuildable deck means that you can build your own coils and install your own cotton wick. Some will argue that building a coil doesn’t take that long, but not everyone enjoys building coils. And even if building a coil will take an experienced builder less than 5 or 10 minutes, it can be a hassle sometimes, especially for those who like to change coils often.

This is why pre-made coils are so amazing. You can buy a variety of coils made with different materials. Each material may enhance your vaping experience in a different way.  They also come in a variety of ohm ranges and wattage capacities for optimal operation. It’s a great way to experiment and fine tune your experience to find your vaping sweet spot.

Fine Tip E-Juice Bottles

Some e-liquid bottles have large tips, some have glass droppers, and some have skinny/fine tips. They all have their advantages, but a great all-around useful bottle is one with a fine tip. There are many refillable tank atomizers on the market, and some can only be filled through tiny fill holes. Fine-tip bottles are perfect for filling small fill holes because they usually fit right into the hole, while large tips or droppers can cause spills.

Cleaning Advice

Some vapers prefer to clean their atomizers as thoroughly as possible, but this isn’t completely necessary. If you absolutely dread cleaning your atomizers, you can do a great job simply by disassembling the tank, rinsing everything except for the coil under warm water, and wiping it dry with a cloth or paper towel. If you do this once every few days, or whenever you switch to a new e-juice flavor, your tank will stay nice, clean, and in great shape.
