Steeping and Storage: E-Liquid Essentials
One of the major benefits of choosing Halo is that it offers a wide range of high-performance e-cigarettes, alongside an extensive list of premium e-liquid flavors and strengths. Our customers enjoy knowing their products are long-lasting, flavorful and ready to use whenever the mood arises. While they’re extremely well-made and durable, Halo products can’t be treated with reckless abandon. You need to be storing and steeping them properly in order to make sure you get the most from them.
Read on to get a few tips on how to best use and enjoy your Halo e-liquid products so they provide flavorful satisfaction without an ounce of hassle.
Flavor—it’s a pretty big part of why we vape. Sure, some people love the clouds they exhale. Others like a strong kick of nicotine. But in the end, most continue to vape because it tastes good. Which is why proper storage is a must.
If you’ve done your e-cig homework, you probably already knew that proper storage allows e-liquids to give you optimum flavor and vapor. And in turn, you’ve probably heard that e-liquid flavors can taste even better, thanks to a little process called steeping, which is the act of “aging” e-liquid, and waiting a short time to use it until flavors meld.
Steeping is a hot-button topic for vapers and – though most of these discussions center on bottled e-liquid – they can also apply to filled tanks or prefilled cartomizers.
But, before you start barking at Siri to set calendar reminders, you can relax.
All Halo e-liquid is pre-steeped before it’s ever even bottled or put into cartomizers. And until it’s ordered and shipped, Halo e-liquid remains stored in ideal conditions (more on that later), meaning it arrives on your doorstep ready to use, without worry of needing additional time to develop.
Now, maybe you’re not worried about steeping, but you ARE concerned about running out of Tiki Juice and XL cartomizers. First, I’d tell you about Halo’s same-day shipping and wealth of delivery options. But, if you insist on stocking up and need to find a good place for your spare products, keep the following in mind:
- Store bottles, tanks and cartomizers in a cool and dark place. Too much sun, heat or dramatic changes in temperature may negatively affect the flavor and potency of your e-liquid.
- Do not remove cartomizers from packaging until ready to use. If you do, make sure you have a cool, dark place to store them. It would be a real shame to waste a pack of cartomizers because you wanted to line them up like soldiers on your windowsill.
- Do not refrigerate or freeze tanks and cartomizers. There is no benefit to refrigerating our products. And, there’s definitely a risk of negative effects such as distortion of flavor, or even a cracked tank at too low a temperature. These aren’t your uncle’s cartons of Luckies. Just keep them cool and dry and they’ll stay fresh.
If you’re one of those people who likes to try different e-liquids in blank cartomizers, the same rules apply.
In the end, just know that an ideal place to store our products is in a closet or cabinet, on a top shelf away from light, and more importantly, curious hands, paws or mouths. Speaking of which…
Where not to Store
First things first, let’s address some of the negative e-cig incidents that have occurred over the past few years. We agree the upswing in e-cigarette accidents is alarming and hope that adults who use e-cigarettes become more diligent when using and storing their products, especially in homes with children. Let’s be 100 percent crystal clear about our focus: Halo products are designed solely for adults of legal smoking age and should be stored the same way you would treat traditional cigarettes, alcoholic beverages, or other adult products: safely out of the reach of children and pets.
Halo tanks and cartomizers are self-contained devices, which will not pose harm when subject to proper use (clearly explained in our product instruction manuals). That said, it’s common knowledge that e-cigs should never find their way into children’s hands or pets’ mouths. Yes, we’re all human, and mistakes can happen. But vaping is an adult activity, and e-liquid needs to be handled with care and concern for safety.
In short, if you can remember to lock the liquor cabinet, stow the bleach on a high shelf and keep the kids away from the power tools, then safely using and storing your e-liquids shouldn’t be any different.
