What is Cloud-Chasing?
Some years after 2007, when E-cigarettes became a trend, a brand new kind of sport gained popularity in the West Coast of the US.
Its name? Cloud-Chasing.
Its purpose? Blowing the biggest plumes of vapor anyone could ever imagine.
What is Cloud-Chasing?
In two words, cloud-chasing can be described as stunt vaping since the goal for vapers is to do as many tricks as they can or to blow the largest cloud. The more (and the better) stunts they achieve or the larger clouds of vapor they blow, the better cloud-chasers they are considered to be.
“Why do that?” you may ask.
First of all, it is a newly discovered hobby, and just like with all new trends, people get excited about it, making it more and more popular.
Second of all, prizes. Many prizes!
Cloud competition is the short name for cloud-chasing competition, where cloud-chasers gather to compete with one another over who can blow the biggest cloud of vapor. Professional vapers participate in these cloud-blowing contests, which sometimes offer prize money in the range of $200 to $2,000. Cloud Competitions take place all over the US, but two of the most important events are the International Cloud Championships in California and the World Series of Vape, in Las Vegas.
Last but not least, most of these games are sponsored by E-cigarette companies and attract spectators who, in the vaping community are known as “cloud-gazers.”
If you are not familiar with cloud-chasing tricks, we’re sure that you are dying to take a look at some of them. Well, as always, we are here to quench your thirst for more, so let’s take a look at five of them. We have included video tutorials for you to try out. Let’s start with the basics:
Creating O’s, or smoke rings, is one of the most popular tricks you can find online. What you have to do to achieve them is to blow big, thick circles of vapor out of your mouth. Pretty amazing!
The Double O’s
As soon as you know how to shape the perfect “O,” you will be ready for your double O’s as well since the technique is exactly the same, and there is only one thing missing: a finger.
It may be the coolest trick of them all since you actually imitate the way dragons blow fire from their mouths and noses—and what is cooler than a dragon? O.K., it may require more advanced skills, but when you master the power of the dragons, you are ready for a small championship.
The Ghost Inhale
By the name of this trick alone, you can understand how cool you are going to look when you perform it in front of your friends. Boo!
The Halo Trick
As you can imagine, this is our favorite trick of them all! Vapers blow a thick O, which is later turned into a perfect halo for the top of their heads. Vapers all over the world, we invite you to create a halo and send it over. Get those E-cigs to work and shine!
What Makes A Good Professional Vaper?
Now that you know the basic techniques to become the new star of cloud-chasing, it’s time to write down all the extra stuff a good cloud-chaser needs to wow the cloud competition judges.
Professional vapers should never forget that running out of power is never acceptable, and they should always carry a backup with them. Also, airflow is essential since too much resistance can lead to thin vapor clouds, which are not easy to handle. Finally, if you want to practice cloud-chasing, you should always prefer sub-ohm devices and High-VG E-liquids.
So there you have it—an intro to cloud-chasing. Did we miss anything? Let us know in the comments below! And don’t forget, let us see your Halos!
