Halo’s Holiday Season Shopping Guide

Halo’s Holiday Season Shopping Guide

The holiday season is right around the corner! It’s almost time for Thanksgiving celebrations, religious holidays, AND endless holiday shopping. Retailers across the country are getting ready for all the holiday season shoppers and days like Black Friday).

Want to know how “Black Friday” got started? We’ll tell you that and more, like non-shopping activities you can do that day instead and several of this year’s must-have gifts.

Black Friday

The term “Black Friday” began in the 1950s. Police officers in Philadelphia used it to describe how hectic the city became the day after Thanksgiving. Tourists and suburban residents traveled into the city, which would require the officers to work extra-long shifts to manage the crowds and traffic. “Black Friday” eventually became a nationwide expression. Participating in Black Friday can be stressful and chaotic so we created a list of things you can do instead:

1. Cook leftovers from Thanksgiving

2. DIY activities—You can create art, furniture for your home, or your own clothes

3. Decorate your home for the holidays

4. Go on a road trip—Drive out of town to walk around and explore

5. Have a horror movie festival at home—Invite some family and friends over to binge watch scary movies

6. Catch up on TV shows

7. Pamper yourself with a spa day

8. Visit museums

9. Volunteer your time at a shelter

10. Listen to new music

11. Make holiday cards

Small Business Saturday and Cyber Monday

Instead of participating in Black Friday, you can get your shopping done on Small Business Saturday and Cyber Monday. Small Business Saturday, the Saturday after Thanksgiving, celebrates small businesses and how they positively impact the economy. There are a lot of advantages to shopping at small businesses like supporting the town where you live and increasing job opportunities in the workforce. By the way, buying Halo products at local vape stores is a great way to support independent businesses and the economy. Take a look at our store locator to find a Halo vape shop near you. It’s also better for you to wait until the Monday after Thanksgiving to shop. Cyber Monday usually has better savings than Black Friday. So, you can avoid all the craziness of Black Friday by shopping online at home. And you don’t even have to put on pants!

Holiday Gift Guide

Not sure what gifts to buy during what is arguably the hottest shopping weekend of the year?  We made a list with some of this year’s anticipated hot items to give you gift ideas:

-Roku Express

-Nespresso Pixie Espresso Maker

-Amazon Echo 2nd Generation

-Scratch Map (to scratch-off visited areas)

-Birchbox Beauty Box Subscription

-Waterproof Bluetooth Speaker

-Serac Classic Camping Hammock

-BakerStone Pizza Oven Box

Aspire/Halo Gusto Mini

But don’t forget to support your community by doing some holiday shopping at businesses in your area. For vapers, any Halo hardware or bottles of Halo’s Café Mocha, Belgian Cocoa, and Kringle’s Curse would be great gifts that match the season.
