Halo Customer Spotlight: Michelle from Alabama

After being diagnosed with COPD, Michelle knew she had to quit smoking or die.

Halo: What made you start vaping?

Michelle: In 2015, I was diagnosed with COPD. I tried many different products to stop smoking in the past. Nicotine patches, gum, hypnosis, and even the Chantix pill. Nothing helped. The longest I went without smoking was a few weeks. After my diagnosis, I knew that it was either quit or die. After being released from the hospital with my diagnosis, I drove by a vape shop that I’d passed a hundred times before. I’d always thought the idea was a joke, but it was no longer funny. Calling up one of my friends on the cellphone, I walked in and handed my phone to the person behind the counter. This friend had been vaping for several years and she started me out on a kit.

Halo: How has vaping changed your life?

Michelle: I’m alive today! There is no doubt in my mind that if I hadn’t started vaping I would have been a victim of the tobacco industry. After a few weeks, I could sleep at night without waking up coughing. After a month, my taste and smell came back. Now in 2017, my pulmonary function test (a test that measures the capacity of your lungs) is completely normal for a person my age. No more inhalers, coughing my lungs out, or being so winded I can’t walk in my front yard!

Halo: Do you vape nicotine containing products? If so, what level nicotine do you use?

Michelle: I currently vape 6mg of nicotine. When I began, I started with 18mg. I do plan to lower this again and eventually go to 0.

Halo: How long have you been vaping?

Michelle: Two years.

Halo: What flavors do you vape?

Michelle: I love bakery and creams. I started out with the tobacco flavors because I needed the association in the beginning. Vaping helps mimic the behavior of smoking, which is why it’s so much more effective than patches, gum, and other nicotine replacement ideas. For me, I’d smoked for 30 years so it was a habit as much as an addiction.

Halo: What hobbies are you involved in now that you couldn’t do when you smoked cigarettes?

Michelle: One of my favorite hobbies I’m able to do again is sing. I sang for twelve years and toured with a satellite talent program before smoking robbed me of my voice. I can also swim, walk, and hike with my kids!

Halo: What’s your favorite Halo flavor? Why?

Michelle: I have to pick a favorite? That’s an impossible task because Halo has so many great flavors! I’m a chocolate lover so Belgian Cocoa has to be one of my favorites. It’s a delicious chocolate vape that I adore. Cafe Mocha, because of my love of coffee, and Toasted Reserve because of my love of peanut butter. I always recommend Tribeca to people that ask what vape to start with when trying to give up smoking.

Halo: What’s the number one thing you want people to know about vaping?

Michelle: You’re not getting the real story from the media. I won’t get into the conspiracy theories (which I really don’t believe are a conspiracy at all) but I will say it is not in the tobacco company’s best interest for you to stop smoking. They want you to believe that we are targeting children, when every single person I’ve spoken with in the vaping world is against that. This is a life-saving technology for people like me, and so many more lives could be saved if they would be honest about the benefits of vaping.

Halo: What are your hobbies?

Michelle: I’m not sure you’d consider this a hobby, but I make my living from writing romance novels. I love to sing, ride four-wheelers (ATVs), fish with my husband and kids, and we love spending time in the great outdoors.

Halo: What is something unique about you?

Michelle: This year I was chosen as a Kindle Scout Winner by Amazon and they published my book.

Halo: What’s your favorite quote?

Michelle: “Live. Laugh. Love.” Life is so beautiful and we should all enjoy every minute of it. Thanks to vaping, I get that opportunity!

Halo: Who’s your hero?

Michelle: Dawn Yurkas! She was the friend that told me about vaping, so she will always be my superhero.

Halo: Who’d play you in a movie of your life?

Michelle: I’d choose one of my twin daughters. I really hope that movie has a happy ending!

Halo: Cats or dogs?

Michelle: I love both but only have one gorgeous golden lab named Mark the Dog. My husband and one of the twins are allergic to cats, so we can’t have them.

Halo: Beach or mountains?

Michelle: I live on top of a mountain on 40 beautiful acres of land, so definitely the mountains.

Halo: Pancakes or waffles?

Michelle: I’m a diabetic so if I could eat either I’d love that!

Congrats Michelle 🙂 my girlfriend quit smoking about 3 years ago with vapes, because she knew I didn’t like cigarette smoke smells. After her success, we were able to introduce my father to the world of vaping and he successfully quit smoking, again. I had quit smoking many years ago due to getting terrible pains in my chest every time I took a drag on a cigarette.. I apparently had developed an allergy to them and almost put myself in a grave (2 er visits and a few thousand dollars of debt to them just to find this out). I quit smoking by starting to dip. Now everyone is so concerned about me getting mouth cancer and begging me to quit, I bought a kit and some high quality VG liquid and I am about to take the plunge myself and give up tobacco products once and for all.

Reading your success story is very inspiring. It is always easy for me to encourage others and coach them along, but now, finally, it’s my turn to join everyone else that is tobacco free 🙂

Thank you for being an inspiration and thanks to Nicopure Labs for posting this article 🙂
