Halo Customer Spotlight: Leslie from Michigan

The urge to smoke no longer interrupts Leslie’s Life.

Halo: Tell us a little bit about yourself.

Leslie: I was born and raised in Detroit, Michigan (Detroit Rock City!). I live out in the sticks near Lansing now, but my heart will always be in Detroit. The ’60s were a great time to be a kid in Detroit. I’ve had a lot of hobbies over the years, anything from jewel crafting to crocheting, cheese making, roller skating, and even lard rendering! Currently my hobbies are cooking and taking care of the many stray cats that have been abandoned on my property (aka, ‘Crazy Cat Lady’). I’m also really into anything Star Trek or Stargate. And of course, the internet and vaping.

Halo: What made you start vaping?

Leslie: I wanted to try to quit smoking cigarettes. My brother started vaping (he had developed COPD) and I tried his vape and knew I could quit smoking cigarettes if I started vaping. I tried everything else and nothing worked. I was a smoker since I was 14 years old.

Halo: How has vaping changed your life?

Leslie: I no longer smoke! My house and clothes don’t stink of cigarette smoke. I’m not coughing up brown phlegm in the morning (I know, gross, but true story). I don’t wake up in the middle of the night wanting to smoke. I can go for hours without craving a smoke, or a vape for that matter.

Halo: Do you vape nicotine containing products? If so, what level nicotine do you use?

Leslie: Yes, I vape a small amount of nicotine – 3 mg/ml. It amounts to about one cigarette a day worth of nicotine without all the other junk they put in cigarettes and no tar.

Halo: How long have you been vaping?

Leslie: Four, maybe, five years. I can’t really remember, but I quit smoking cigarettes completely the same week I started vaping.

Halo: What flavors do you vape?

Leslie: Tobacco. Sometimes I vape no-flavor high VG 3mg/ml.

Halo: What hobbies are you involved in now that you couldn’t do when you smoked cigarettes?

Leslie: Well, it’s not so much hobbies, but I can go places and do things without the craving to smoke cigarettes. Smoking is pretty much not allowed anywhere, even the beach. The urge to smoke doesn’t constantly interrupt my life.

Halo: What’s your favorite Halo flavor? Why?

Leslie: Prime 15. I vape it exclusively. I tried a lot of flavors and this one just appeals to me, I really enjoy it.

Halo: What’s the number one thing you want people to know about vaping?

Leslie: Vaping changed my life. I didn’t even really want to quit smoking cigarettes, I had smoked for over 30 years! If you want to quit smoking, try vaping. You may have to try different flavors until you find the one that satisfies you, but don’t get discouraged. There are so many flavors to try. Once you find a flavor you like, you can begin reducing the amount of nicotine.

Halo: What is something unique about you?

Leslie: I enjoy futuristic concepts and possibilities, but I’m also really into the whole ‘rustic’ homesteader craft type of knowledge and practices. If I would have been a little older in the ’60s, I would have lived in a commune I think, and I definitely would have gone to Woodstock (I begged my older sister to take me with her!).

Halo: What’s your favorite quote?

Leslie: “I became insane, with long intervals of horrible sanity.” – Edgar Allen Poe.

Halo: Who’s your hero?

Leslie: My hero is the 14th Dalai Lama, Tenzin Gyatso. (I’m a bit of a contradiction, I know.)

Halo: Who’d play you in a movie of your life?

Leslie: If I had to pick someone to play me in a movie about my life, I think it would be Melissa McCarthy (Mike & Molly), or Patricia Routledge (Keeping Up Appearances).

Halo: Beach or mountains?

Leslie: The beach is where I want to be. During our beautiful Michigan summers, I could spend the entire day out in the sun.

Halo: Pancakes or waffles?

Leslie: Yes please!
