Halo Customer Spotlight: Kathryn from Northern California

Halo Customer Spotlight: Kathryn from Northern California

Kathryn was a smoker for 35 years. She tried nicotine gum and patches, but nothing helped her quit.

Halo: What made you start vaping?

Kathryn: I was hospitalized twice for heart problems and even had to carry nitroglycerin around with me. I was a smoker for 35 years. I tried gum and patches to quit smoking, and nothing seemed to work. One night, I went online and ordered e-juice and vaporizers from several different manufactures. Once I tried Halo’s tobacco sample pack, I knew that I had found something special. Halo blew the competition right out of the water. I haven’t ordered from anyone else or smoked another cigarette since then.

Halo: How has vaping changed your life?

Kathryn: I can breathe freely now, and I no longer smell like an ashtray. I love being a nonsmoker. Halo’s awesome flavors make it easy for me.

Halo: Do you vape nicotine containing products? If so, what level nicotine do you use?

Kathryn: I vape 6mg when I’m sitting at my computer, 18mg when I’m working or running errands. One of the best things about vaping is I get to choose my own level of nicotine at any time.

Halo: How long have you been vaping?

Kathryn: Four and a half years.

Halo: What flavors do you vape?

Kathryn: Prime 15, Tribeca, Torque 56, Belgium Cocoa, Kringle’s Curse, and now I’m discovering all the awesome fruit flavors Halo has to offer.

Halo: What hobbies are you involved in now that you couldn’t do when you smoked cigarettes?

Kathryn: I walk three miles almost every day now. I couldn’t do that when I was still a smoker. My area is known for its extensive hiking trails, and now that I can breathe again, I’m able to explore them all.

Halo: What’s your favorite Halo flavor? Why?

Kathryn: Prime 15 is liquid gold! It has a nutty earthiness to it, with just a hint of dark chocolate. It was strong enough for my smoker’s taste buds at the time, and it’s still my favorite flavor to date. It mixes well with every other vape flavor I like – all of them, even the fruit and menthol flavors. Its clear color seems to make my cartomizers last longer too.

Halo: What’s the number one thing you want people to know about vaping?

Kathryn: There’s a ton of propaganda put out by the tobacco industry and big pharma about vaping. I’ve had to explain to so many people that no, vaping isn’t worse than cigarettes, and no, it’s not full of poisons like formaldehyde, and no, bystanders won’t absorb chemicals or nicotine by standing next to someone who is vaping. I want people to know that vaping saves lives.

Halo: What are your hobbies?

Kathryn: Is online window shopping a hobby?

Halo: What is something unique about you?

Kathryn: I design and make one-of-a-kind art candles. I started when I was 12. A candlemaker let me hang out and do chores for her, and in turn, she taught me how to make my own special wax blends and showed me some techniques. A few years ago, I picked up the craft again and added an art element and carving to the skills that I had learned. Now I’m doing what I love to do most, and people are actually asking to buy my candles.

Halo: What’s your favorite quote?

Kathryn: “I’m only responsible for everything I say and do … not for what you understand.”

Halo: Who’s your hero?

Kathryn: I’ve been fortunate enough to have awesome people in my life, but we all have flaws, even the best of us. A hero is someone who is larger than life. I admire people who do what it takes to help those around them, even if the odds are against them or it’s politically incorrect.

Halo: Who’d play you in a movie of your life?

Kathryn: If Hollywood thought that I was interesting enough to make a movie of my life then that would mean something traumatic probably happened to me. I want Sigourney Weaver. I plan on surviving that zombie apocalypse, dammit.

Halo: Cats or dogs?

Kathryn: Dogs. I love my walking buddy.

Halo: Beach or mountains?

Kathryn: Both. I grew up on the beaches of Southern California, and now I live surrounded by mountains in Northern California.

Halo: Pancakes or waffles?

Kathryn: Waffles.
